Round Hill Music has signed The Pretty Reckless’ Ben Phillips, who has written or co-written such songs as “Death By Rock and Roll,” “And So It Went” and “Only Love Can Save Me Now,” to a global exclusive publishing deal.
The Pretty Reckless catalog has so far moved 1.09 million album consumption units in the U.S., according to Luminate, formerly MRC Data.
“Ben is an extremely talented songwriter and producer,” Round Hill Music A&R executive Adam Mott said in a statement. “Death by Rock and Roll’ was my favorite record of 2021. I am so excited to be working with him and providing support in bringing his creative vision to the next level. He is the perfect artist for what we are building here at Round Hill moving forward.”
According to the announcement, the band — which is fronted by former actress Taylor Momsen — is about to co-headline a summer tour with Halestrom, and in August will tour Canada with Greta Van Fleet.
“As a songwriter, I’ve been looking for partners who have a passionate dedication to the art,” Phillips said in a statement. “I thankfully have found this with Adam and the wonderful people at Round Hill Music, who show great respect to their songwriters and their work. I’m very excited for this new partnership and for our future endeavors together.”
Other songwriters on the Round Hill roster include Matchbox 20 frontman Rob Thomas, Goo Goo Doll Johnny Rzeznik, and the Four Horseman — Marti Frederiksen, Blair Daily, Scott Stevens and Zac Maloy.
