Bob Moses hits No. 1 on Billboard‘s Alternative Airplay chart for the first time, as “Love Brand New” climbs to the top of the ranking dated May 28.
The duo, comprising Jim Vallance and Tom Howie, leads with its third entry on the chart. “Tearing Me Up” and “Back Down” each peaked at No. 16, in 2017 and 2018, respectively.
Bob Moses is the second act to score a first Alternative Airplay No. 1 in 2022, following JID, who led for nine weeks with his and Imagine Dragons‘ “Enemy” beginning in February. In all of 2021, five acts topped the tally for the first time in lead roles.
Concurrently, “Love” lifts 10-9 on Adult Alternative Airplay, where it’s Bob Moses’ first entry.
On the all-rock-format, audience-based Rock & Alternative Airplay chart, the track pushes 5-3 with 4.7 million audience impressions, up 20%, according to Luminate.
“Love” also bullets at No. 42 on the multi-metric Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart, two weeks after reaching at No. 39. It ascends 13-11 on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, returning to its peak. In addition to its airplay, the song earned 400,000 official U.S. streams in the May 13-19 tracking week.
“Love” is the lead single from The Silence in Between, Bob Moses’ fifth studio album, released March 4. The set has earned 12,000 equivalent album units since release.
